Visitors coming to Birdwood throughout the year will find the Birdwood Wine and Cheese Centre an exciting versatile tourist attraction in the town, in close proximity to the National Motor Museum.
We are proud of South Australia and offer visitors, both national and international, the opportunity to learn about the fine wines and cheeses produced in this state. While visiting the centre you can taste the fine and varied produce amid an environment that encourages familiarity with our outstanding countryside.
The static displays of wines are housed in display areas so visitors are aware of what is available in regional South Australia. We offer a tasting program of 22 different boutique wines from around the state, exchanged fortnightly and cheeses from our South Australian farmers thus encouraging patrons to experience the flavours of South Australia and enable them to discover the unique tastes and aromas awaiting their palate.
Many other luscious products such as olives, olive oil, jams, sauces, savoury delights, snacks of fruit or biscuits, bush tucker and soft drinks are available to tempt the taste buds.
Wine Tasting - receive one complimentary wine just by entering the centre. There are a total of 18 wines ready for tasting. Select all white, red or fortified or a combination of any of them.
Compare the wine by the region or just taste the varieties. Wine can be purchased by the glass or by the bottle.

Cheese Tasting - cheese and wine compliment each other. A range of South Australian cheeses are also available for tasting and for purchase.
The cheese collection ranges from traditional cheddars and camembert to a wide range of goat and sheep cheeses.
They come from a wide area including the Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Lower Murray and Adelaide suburbs.
Cheese platters are available for purchase with three, six or twelve cheeses, eat in or takeaway. Each platter comes with samples of olives and dried fruit.
Birdwood Wine and Cheese Centre stock a range of products from all over South Australia, including olives, olive oil, glace and chocolate figs, honey, jams, Quandong sauces, native chutneys, non alcoholic drinks, wine accessories, gift bags, gift baskets made to order and gift vouchers.
The centre has been set up to promote boutique wineries from all over South Australia. Wine from each winery is on display.
We do not encourage drink driving and therefore spittoons are readily available along with a range of non alcoholic drinks.
