The Railway Precinct consists of the railway line which was extended from Goomalling to Wongan Hills in 1911.

The Water Tower and Tank was built between 1913 and 1914. The stand is 40 feet high and made from karri and jarrah. The tank holds 23,000 gallons. The tank was used to fill the steam trains and is one of only a couple left in Western Australia. Diesel trains came into service on the Wongan Hills line in July 1955. The tank remained in its original location, but was no longer used. The Shire has recently had the water tower thoroughly inspected by a structural engineer, and is has been passed as structurally safe.

The Railway Barracks were built in 1913 to 1914 with extensions being made in 1921 to a design to suit the local climate. Timber framed and clad with weatherboard, each accommodation unit is a separate room with approximately one metre of space between each. Two rows of rooms from a hallway through the centre which the door of each end unit opens into. The building is roofed with corrugated iron. A separate dwelling at the south end is connected by a covered walkway.

The Original Station Master's Residence is situated north of the barracks and was built in 1915. It is a brick construction with a gabled corrugated iron roof. The Barracks and the Station Master's House are lived in so please view from the road as they are not open to the public.

The railway station is built with a steel frame with panels of red and cream brick. The low pitch roof is clad with corrugated fibro-cement sheeting. The station is built where the original wheat bins were located, and was officially opened in 1965. Passenger and general freight trains stopped by 1985 and the station closed on 30 September 1985.

The best viewing spot for these buildings is the east side of Fenton Place looking west.

There are public toilets available at railway complex.
