Each January the Mount Barker Wine Producer's Association presents the D'Vine Wine Festival to an ever growing and appreciative audience. Those who attend find themselves indulging in fine wine, food and music amongst a classical vineyard and winery setting within the magnificent grounds and surrounds of Goundrey Wines.
Visitors are able to meander among small boutique producers whose wines and labels may be relatively unknown outside of the region and can become more closely aquainted to the larger producers who present the very best their companies have to offer. In almost all cases, the people who serve you are the very producers of that label who will enjoy the opportunity to share wine talk, and listen to your reviews of their most recent and finest vintages.
In 2006 the times of the event are being brought forward earlier to ensure visitors from the region and beyond are able to soak up the beautiful sunny weather that is always on offer on balmy January days. You will find yourself on the shady pristine lawns of our festival location with a glass of your favoured wine in a wonderful atmosphere of country friendship. Visitors from around the state continue to be our best means of delivering the message of the Mount Barker wine region to a more diverse and growing audience.
As an indicator of the growing strength of the Mount Barker Wine Region, the festival attracts major sponsorship from Western Australian Newspapers Ltd, Timbercorp and Win Television. Further sponsorship opportunities are taken by many supportive local companies who have a direct interest in the Mount Barker Wine Region.
The Mount Barker Tourist Bureau offers accommodation information for those wishing to extend their stay with hotel, motel and bed and breakfast establishments in the region. The Mount Barker D'Vine Wine Festival is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to discover and stay a little longer in ine of the most highly respected wine regions of Australia.
