Princess Royal Harbour is a very large marine embayment covering 29 square kilometres. It is formed by the large encircling Torndirrup Peninsula in south west Western Australia.
Princess Royal Harbour is home to the City of Albany, one of the states oldest and picturesque cities with a proud fishing and whaling history.
The harbour has extensive shallow banks and intertidal areas which are important habitats for waterbirds and marine flora and fauna. It boasts a variety of fish species including five different species of Leatherjacket.
The harbour has a jetty providing berthing spaces and pens for vessels over 18 metres and deep keeled yachts, and a single lane boat ramp is situated near Little Grove on the south side of the harbour.
