Southbound Festival, The
It's official, The Southbound Festival is returning to Western Australia for another year, to deliver the summer holiday soundtrack for music lovers of all ages.
On Monday, January 2, 2006 (public holiday), the second annual, all-ages Southbound Festival at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Busselton will be held, supported by Triple J.
As well as starring more than 20 international, national and local acts over one whole day on three stages, there will be onsite camping, making the Southbound Festival Western Australia's first major European- style festival, giving punters the chance to experience what music fans overseas have been enjoying for decades.
Both the Falls Featival and Splendour In The Grass have proved sensations on the East Coast with their camping formats, selling out in just days. And now it's Western Ausralia's turn.
The artists confirmed so far include America's new age rockers The Dandy Warhols, the Latin party starters Ozomatli, the underground's most loved folk/ pop quintets The Shins, the celebrated roots outfit The Beautiful Girls, Perth's own popsters The Panics, the madness of Butterfingers and the new-breed rock stars The Grates. Plus many more acts are still to be announced.
