The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa dating back to the 1950s, when Johannes Hugo Bernhard Schild established a mixed farm, including vineyards at the southern end of the Barossa Valley near Lyndoch.
Schild Estate’s vineyards include some of the oldest in Australia including the famous Moorooroo vineyard near Jacob’s Creek, which was planted in the 1850s by William and John Jacob. Vineyard site selection has favoured the cooler, southern end of the Barossa near Lyndoch, which enjoys a slower and longer ripening period - perfect for optimum grape flavour development. The Schild Estate Cellar Door is located at the main intersection in Lyndoch and is easily recognised with its ‘sandstone and sails’ architecture. Visitors to Cellar Door can enjoy tasting wines, which have a reputation for ripe, generous fruit flavour at a price that’s just as easy to swallow!
Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will show you our range of award winning wines, which can be enjoyed either at the bar or in the courtyard with a regional food platter showcasing delicious Barossa produce. These generous wines are spearheaded by the iconic Moorooroo Shiraz and demonstrate Schild Estate’s regional integrity. This is accountable for Schild Estate standing as Pure Barossa.
Schild Estate’s reputation is built on its commitment to translating the unique tapestry of its vineyards into wines that speak of honesty and drinkability.
