Yaldara Wines and its magnificent chateau have long been recognised as one of the most picturesque and attractive tourist destinations in Australia. Tony Spencely and local chef Kas Martin have been commissioned by McGuigan-Simeon Wines to develop a comprehensive food, wine and tourism facility including total refurbishment of the Bistro, and establishing a larder, produce store and cheese room as well as wedding and conference facilities and cooking school in the magnificent reception centre that is surrounded by landscaped gardens, natural lakes and vineyards.

The magnificent Chateau is one of the Barossa Valley’s most picturesque cellar door operations, and with more than 30 wines available for tasting, a must for visitors to the region.

A selection of prestigious wines from the McGuigan stable are featured at Yaldara cellar door, including Genus 4, Earth’s Portrait, and the Superior Range. The full range of Yaldara wines is also available – including the groundbreaking Julian’s port.

Barossa cuisine is at its best in the casual and contemporary Café Y. Chef Kas Martin has made her mark in the newly refurbished space by incorporating regional produce into an extensive modern Australian menu. Morning and afternoon tea is available as well as lunch and dinner. Café Y is open seven days a week.

The larder, adjacent to Cafe Y is also open seven days a week and stocks include a large range of nuts, dried fruits, chocolates, oils and Dukkah and condiments as well as wine related gifts for Christmas or birthdays.

The best of the Barossa Valley’s renowned cheese industry is available at Yaldara’s Cheese Room. It is a veritable feast for the senses: Ballycroft washed rind cheese from Greenock, goatscheese from Woodside Cheesewrights, and from a bit further a field, creamy camembert from Kangaroo Island.

And don’t miss out on Café Y’s pate, made from 15 year old Yaldara port.

These new and exciting developments coupled with Yaldara's commitment to provide professional and knowledgeable service will place Yaldara firmly in the must visit category. Some of McGuigan’s best wines are made at Yaldara, and winery tours of the facility are run twice daily (10.15am and 1.30pm). Cost is AUD6.50 per person. Private tours can be arranged at other times.
