Penrith Whitewater is located only an hour from Sydney and is the only man-made whitewater river of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. It was the competition venue for the canoe/kayak slalom events during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
The channel has been designed to recreate the characteristics of a wild river. 14,000 litres per second of raging whitewater flowing over a moveable obstacle system has proven to be a challenging and exciting ride even for the best paddlers in the world.

Penrith Whitewater is available year round for whitewater rafting, kayaking, beach volleyball and guided venue tours. There is also a cafe situated only metres from all the whitewater action and offers a range of choices from take-away to fully catered functions.
Our most popular activity is whitewater rafting because either little or no experience is required. Participants must be at least 12 years and just have a sense of adventure! The necessary equipment is provided and all fun takes place under the friendly guidance of our highly trained river guides.

Guided Rafting - An action packed introduction to whitewater rafting.
Adventure level: Moderate - High. We recommend that you be physically fit, a strong swimmer and be very confident in the water.
Minimum Age: 12 years
Duration: 90 minutes
Experience: No Experience necessary
Self-guided Rafting - Our most challenging rafting trip and definitely not for the faint hearted!
Adventure level: High. We recommend that you be physically fit, a strong swimmer and be very confident in the water.
Minimum Age: 16 years
Duration: 90 minutes
Experience: Previous rafting, whitewater or surf experience highly recommended.
