The GCHR is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation, restoration, preservation and reopening of the Goulburn to Crookwell Railway Line to tourist traffic.
All our members are volunteers, and we have already completed the upgrading to accreditation standard of 10 kilometres of track from Crookwell to McAlister, and a further 4 kilometres on the Goulburn end of the line. This has taken many hours of hard labour by our active members.
We recently celebrated the centenary of the Goulburn to Crookwell line.
The station building at Crookwell is a Heritage building having stood the test of time for over 100 years.
This railway is a great asset for our region, and visitors absolutely love it.
However; having said all that we must emphasise that due to the public risk insurance debacle we are at present unable to give rides on these great machines.
Sadly we are restricted to a static display, but these are just as fascinating standing still.
