Yalata's beaches extend for 40 kilometres along Yalata Indigenous Protected Area. This area offers some of the most exciting and best remote fishing available. There are several camping locations set out adjacent to many of the best gutters.
Access to the beaches is restricted to permit holders only. It is also important to book a campsite in advance. Campers should be aware that they should be self-sufficient as there are no close facilities. The closest are Yalata Roadhouse and Nullarbor Roadhouse, both of which are over an hours drive from any fishing locations.
There are conditions to enter and these can be explained on request. Most conditions relate to the protection of fauna and flora on the Yalata Indigenous Protected Areas. One important condition to note is that alcohol is prohibited on Yalata Indigenous Protected Area.
The Yalata Land Management Officers manage Yalata Indigenous Protected Area. The land management priorities for this area are for conservation and maintenance of biodiversity, in addition to the sustainability of indigenous culture. The Land Management Officers manage 400,000 hectares of land.
Entry is not permitted without a valid Visitors' Permit.
