Situated 70 kilometres south east of Adelaide, established in 1850 by Frank Potts. He was a skilled carpenter and made large red gum vats, and a huge red gum press, which was used until 1962.
This historic family owned winery is renowned for its large range of table and fortified wines, tasted in an atmospheric sales area, and also for its massive red gum lever press, on view in the older section of the cellars along with old red gum vats.
The company today is owned and operated by fifth generation members of the Potts family, with Michael Potts as the current winemaker. The winery has been classified by the National Trust and is listed on the State and National Heritage Registers. Today's winery has the latest technology but still maintains the family traditions - the Pott's philosophy of producing honest, consistent, reliable wines, which are receiving accolades throughout the world.
