Imagine bathing off the Outback dust in a warm thermal spring surrounded by palm trees in the middle of the Simpson Desert.

Dalhousie Mound Springs is a series of 70 waterways – an Oasis in the desert – including welcoming campsites where the whole family can unwind after a long, dusty journey.
Watching the mist rise from these waters on a cold, crisp desert morning or seeing the birdlife attracted to these life-giving pools at dusk are memories that will last a lifetime.
Dalhousie is home to a number of endemic species of fish which are found nowhere else in the world and which have become tolerant to the variations in water temperature.
Keep an eye out for Dingoes and the occasional Red Kangaroo. Waterfowl and birds of prey abound and if lucky you might see rare species such as the Australian Bustard.
Water from the Great Artesian Basin feeds the springs with temperatures ranging from scalding to warm. Swimming is confined to the main spring which is bathwater temperature (no soap or detergents allowed).
While in Witjira National Park, be sure to visit Dalhousie Ruins, surrounded by 100-year-old Date Palms, about 12 kilometres from the springs.
