Long considered a paradise for photographers and birdwatchers, Arkarra's 30 acres of subtropical rainforest lagoons and meandering walking trails are home to goannas, echidnas, wallabies, kangaroos, possums and over 140 species of birds. Species include parrots, cockatoos, finches, honeyeaters and ducks, bush turkeys and black swans that love to be hand fed, as do the huge schools of freshwater fish and turtles.
Arkarra is an unspoilt, natural eco-experience the entire family will love, specially developed to suit all ages and levels of fitness, beginning with a short walking trail of about 200 metres. Both the short and medium walks are wheelchair friendly.

Arkarra is also BYO, so bring your favorite wines, beers and spirits or choose from the enormous range of real coffees, teas, juices, soft drinks, smoothies, milkshakes, waters and mocktails. The old-style ice creamery serves a 'to-die-for' range of traditional icecream flavours in waffle cones.
Situated at Dundowran Beach, just eight minutes drive from the central shopping precinct of Hervey Bay, Arkarra's Restaurant and Balinese Tea Gardens are open from 7.30 a.m. every day.
