Located within walking distance from Cottesloe Beach and around a 15 minute drive from Perth (10 kilometres south west) is North Cottesloe Beach.
The beach provides great swimming and snorkellers can explore the reefs in the area. The beach is slightly less crowded than Cottesloe Beach but is still a very popular spot.
The Surf Life Saving Club monitor the beach during the summer months and there are public toilets and changing facilities available.
There are several popular cafes in the area with many more a short walk away at Cottesloe Beach.
Surf Life Saving Australia's Surf Tips:
- Always swim or surf at places patrolled by surf lifesavers or lifeguards.
- Swim between the red and yellow flags. They mark the safest area to swim.
- Always swim under supervision or with a friend.
- If you are unsure of surf conditions, ask a lifesaver or lifeguard.
