Kangaroo Island is known for its amazing wildlife experiences and some of its best attractions are found in Flinders Chase National Park.
From wind-sculpted rock formations that sit atop a smooth granite dome known as Remarkable Rocks to Admirals Arch, a perfect sweep of rock under which the surf pounds and New Zealand Fur Seals play, the national park is a must see for any visit to the island.
Watch the abundant wildlife, or go bushwalking along trails that open up to stunning beaches - some of which you may just have all to yourself.
Live the life of a lighthouse keeper and stay in a cottage at the Cape du Couedic or Cape Borda lighthouses or sleep under the stars in one of many numerous campsites. Cosy self-contained accommodation is also available at Postman's Cottage at Rocky River and Woodward Hut at Cape Borda Lightstation.
Make sure you drop into the award-winning Flinders Chase Visitor Centre located at the entrance of the park. Here you will find friendly staff ready to point you in the right direction of the parks many highlights. The centre also contains everything from eye-catching murals portraying life-size megafuana, to computer touch screens and touch tables that make for an exceptional sensory experience. There is even a fossil dig pit that the kids will love.
Barbecue facilities and a licensed café are also available in the visitor precinct.
Flinders Chase National Park is located 110 kilometres from Kingscote at the southwestern end of Kangaroo Island.
