This fine old 1920’s building has been painstakingly restored in the unique style of yesteryear, so often sought but rarely found. Most of the 14 guest rooms overlook 2ac. of country garden and surronding forest. Gourmet dining is provided in-house on request.

How to get to Abernethy Guest House Hunter Valley
From Sydney (by car)take the F3 freeway to Cessnock/Kurri t/o(1hr 15 min). Follow signs toward Cessnock (15 min). From Lake Rd t/o proceed 7km to Abernethy t/o at Kearsley Rd (10 min). Proceed 2km to house.
From North Coast(by car.At Hexham Bridge (Hunter River) turn right and follow signs to Kurri Kurri along John Renshaw Dr.(DO NOT turn at start of F3 freeway roundabout sign-posted Sydney) After 15 km turn left at roundabout to Sydney/Toronto.Proceed 8 km to Lake Rd t/o toward Cessnock. After 7 km turn left at Kearsley Rd to Abernethy. Proceed 2 km to house.
From New England Hwy follow signs to Cessnock. Proceed 7 km through Cessnock toward Sydney/Toronto. Turn right at Kearsley Rd to Abernethy.
Transfers from Sydney or local rail/air can be arranged.

Extra Guest / Children
Due to the interior design of the building (stairs and top floor verandas) and the comfort of other guests the guesthouse is not a suitable venue for children. Special circumstances would however be considered individually. Children occupying a bed are charged at the full rate - 2 persons per room only.Cots are not provided.
