Lismore is located 35 minutes from Byron bay and 25 minutes from Ballina between the ocean and forest national parks with Nimbin and other villages close by serving coffee and excellent restaurants.
From Brisbane
via Bangalow road
Continue along Bangalow road to Dawson Street, continue along Dawson street to Ballina road (Bruxner Hwy), right turn at roundabout onto Ballina road, continue along Ballina road to Molesworth street, right turn at roundabout onto Molesworth street, continue along Molesworth street for approximately 500 meters, turn right into motel. (next to Office Works)
From Sydney
via Woodburn road
Continue along Woodburn road to Ballina road (Bruxner Hwy), left turn at the roundabout onto Ballina road, continue along Ballina road to Molesworth street, right turn at roundabout onto Molesworth street, continue along Molesworth street for approximately 500 meters, turn right into motel. Under the Big Top- (april biennially)
The biggest youth spectacular ever held in the Northern Rivers. This extravaganza features 3,000 performers from schools throughout NSW.
Lismore Gemfest- (may)
Held over the third weekend in May. Gemfest is the largest gem, crystal, jewellery and fossil show in regional Australia, attracting over 100 traders.
Lismore Latern Parade- (june)
Award winning community festival attracts thousands to a night of entertainment. Features include a parade with lantern floats, music, dancing, markets, workshops, fire event finale and a colourful street party.
4wd Caravan & Camping Show- (july)
All the latest in 4WD vehicles and accessories, products and services for leisure vehicles, caravans, camper trailers, etc.
Opera at the Channon- (july)
Fine food and wine in the picturesque setting of the Channon. Relax for a afternoon with some of Australia's best operatic talent in the natural amphitheatre of Coronation Park.
Health & Herb Festival- (august)
Regional cuisine, entertainment, herb education, industry activity and events. The festival consists of HerBBQ food stalls, Herbazaar Markets and Youth Events.
Lismore Cup- (september)
The annual Lismore Cup is the social event of the year with a half day public holiday in the Lismore region. The Cup is the feature race meeting on the Far North Coast with a crowd of over 10,00 people in attendance.
Rainbow Region Masters Games- (september biennially)
The Lismore Masters Games is a multi-sport event catering for mature aged (30+) sportspersons.
North Coast National Show- (october)
The North Coast National Show is the biggest agricultural show in the region with agricultural exhibitions, trade events, entertainment, rodeo, ring events and sideshows.
Tropical Fruits- (december)
Annual inclusive celebration hosted by the gay and lesbian community.
Norpa- (year round calender of events)
Annual season of theatre, dance and music provide the best of touring local shows.
