Surrounded by picturesque hills, Sherwoods Cottage is situated on The Oaks, a grazing property in the Rocky Creek Valley midway between Narrabri and Bingara. Growing cattle is our business and you can come and experience that for at least some of the time you are with us. Other activities include bushwalking in our pristine environment where you will run into kangaroos, an occasional echidna maybe a goanna and many beautiful birds. Along Rocky Creek gather lots of animals which can be observed in the morning and afternoons. Further afield, there is horse riding in Bingara, the Cotton Centre in Narrabri and the beautiful spa baths in Moree. Also, Sawn Rocks and the Glacial area are nearby and for a day’s walking, you can’t beat the Mt Kaputar National Park.
Meals are available from Jenn’s kitchen and you are welcome to join us for meals in our delightful dining room. If you prefer to cater for yourself, Sherwood’s Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a full sized ’fridge. The Cottage has a lovely outlook and from the verandah you can relax and enjoy the view! Bedrooms have overhead fans and there is a cosy open fire in the lounge room as well as a gas heater in the kitchen for those chilly winter nights.
Your hosts are happy to take you on a property tour and in the evening you can go spotlighting the many creatures which are around at night. Afternoon tea is available in The Oaks garden and the garden is also a fine place to have an evening drink!
