It boasts a superb airport, with daily services to Sydney & Melbourne flown by Rex Airlines [Saab 340 turbo prop].
Merimbula is ideally located, with a most temperate climate, & is just 2 hours from Lake Jindabyne & the Koskuisko national Park just a day trip away.

Merimbula abounds with a myriad of interesting & beautiful things to do. Surrounding the town is the "top lake" -
this volcanic lake is exquisite, & the boardwalk [15-20min level walk] is not to be missed, particularly first thing in the morning as the mist rises over the surrounding hills, & the waterbirds arrive amongst the oyster leases.
There are a number of pristine beaches in each direction, suitable for all watersport activities, & all types of fishing [beasch, surf, estuary, rock, reef & game].lakes Jindabyne & Eucumbene are only 2 hours away.
Bowling[great club & weather,golf[3 clubs nearby], bushwalking[we are in the southern forests], bird watching[over 60 species alone sighted in this immediate area[including black cockatoos & sea eagles], not to mention the June jazz long w/e & the Melbourne cup w/e country & western festival.
Don't miss a short trip to Pambula lake for a plate of oysters by the lake, shucked in front of your eyes by the local growers- a treat not to be missed.
