Seal and Sea Adventures takes visitors to Tasmania's seal colonies on Tenth Island, Bass Strait. Tours depart from the Pilot Station at George Town, on the eastern side of the Tamar River. Travel to Tenth Island on Agro I, a seven metre (23 foot) power cat, or Tamar Spirit, a 10 metre (33 foot) cruiser. Your skipper is a local person with extensive knowledge of the area and excellent boat handling skills. Trips are always subject to weather conditions. The seal colony on Tenth Island is made up of about 600 Australian fur seals and there are approximately 60 breeding pairs of New Zealand fur seals. Seal and Sea Adventures offer you the chance to snorkel or scuba dive with the seals and a shark shield device can be provided. You can also charter the boats for diving or fishing trips in Bass Strait, along the coastline as far as Bridport or to Flinders Island. Half-day and full-day tours operate from the mouth of the Tamar to the Batman Bridge. Tours operate daily all year round with a minimum of two and maximum of 21 people.
