Situated on Fisherman's Dock at the foot of the Nut, Stanley Seaquarium provides an ideal outing for the whole family. A wide variety of Tasmanian sea life are viewed at close range from above and below water level, so close that you can almost touch them. The Rock Pool provides encounters and observation of the various fish, urchins, hermit crabs, sea-stars and other normally difficult to see creatures who live there and is a favourite with the children. The Wharf shelters huge Southern Rock Lobsters, Cod and Morwong, while the Giant Crabs make a home for themselves in specially designed caves alongside Sharks, Wrasse, Trumpeter and the amazing Cephalopods. The Seaquarium is designed for wheelchair access and the friendly staff is happy to answer your questions about these varied and fascinating creatures of our seas.
