Broken Earth Cafe and Restaurant sits atop the Line of Lode, it is a major attraction in town as it accompanies the Miners Memorial, a silent sentinal to the many miners who lost their lives in the efforts to build our city and our great nation. Broken Earth Cafe & restaurant is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week year round except for Christmas day.
The Broken Earth Cafe & Restaurant has an exclusive bird’s eye view of Broken Hill as it sits on top of the now dormant Line of Lode, or ore body that runs through the middle of the town.
You will find a visitors centre and gift shop with souvenirs promoting the local area and entry to the miner’s memorial which was erected several years ago in memory to those who died in the mines in and around Broken Hill.
The complex functions as a cafe during the day serving quality freshly prepared meals such as chicken Caesar salad, freshly battered fish and gourmet open beef burger with bush tomato chutney, there is also a children’s menu.
By night the restaurant transforms into a fine dinning experience with a menu one might expect in the heart of Sydney. Game meats including Emu, kangaroo & pheasant are often featured on the menu as well as the unusual use of bush foods such as river mint, bush tomato and Quandong. Broken Earth wines are also available which have been made from local grapes grown at Menindee.
The soon to be opened wine discovery centre will feature the full Broken Earth range of five red and three white wines that will be available for tasting and sales. Coaches, private parties and corporate functions are all welcome at the Broken Earth Cafe and Restaurant. We can also cater for you're functions off site should you require.
