The towering glass spire of the Swan Bells Belltower, located where Perth meets the Swan River is a touchstone for Australian and international tourists.
One of Western Australia's most unique and visited attractions, the Swan Bells received a Gold Medal for Major Attraction and Silver Medal for Heritage and Cultural Tourism at the 2007 WA Tourism Awards.
The Belltower is one of the largest musical instruments on earth – custom built to house the historically significant bells of Saint Martin in the Fields church, the parish church of Buckingham Palace in Trafalgar Square, London.
The Swan Bells offers tourists fascinating displays on these famous bells and the ancient art of bell ringing, as well as stunning 360o views of Perth city skyline and the Swan River from the sixth floor open air Observation Deck.
It is the only place in world where you can view bellringing in action. It is a sought after destination for bellringers worldwide where you can even have a go at bellringing yourself in interactive demonstrations. See the Swan Bells website for details.
New things to see and do…
Audio Visual System – A state of the art audiovisual system is adding a whole new element to the visitor experience, allowing simultaneous viewing of the bells and ringers and documentary history footage.
Asian Bell Collection – The Swan Bells has acquired a rare collection of Asian Bells now on display, as part of its active program of seeking cultural artefacts, including bells and clocks from other countries.
