How grand this building must have appeared when it officially opened in 1887 as part of Queen Victoria's Jubilee Celebrations. It still holds its gracious and elegant head high over the bustle of commerce below.
The Fremantle Town Hall was a frequent venue for plays, meetings and movies. It has been used for large events such as the Foundation Lunch in 1929 when Fremantle was proclaimed a city, balls, Naturalisation Ceremonies and Civic occassions.
It was remodelled in the 1950's.
