The Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail is part of the Golden Pipeline Project that commemorates the incredible engineering feats of C Y O'Connor.

In 1898 work began on C Y O'Connor's famous water supply schemes. A scheme to pipe water further than it had ever been piped before. Eight pumping stations were required to lift the water from a storage dam on the Helena River near Perth and pump it 560 kilometres east to the Goldfields. The scheme was opened on 24 January 1903.

The Golden Pipeline Heritage Drive Trail links sites between Mundaring Weir and Kalgoorlie. Experience the fascinating Australian story of gold, water, success and hardship.
