Staircase Gallery (established 1992), the original and longest established gallery in the Perth area focusing on Australian fine art, fine woodcraft and furniture, is set in the heart of the historic west end of Fremantle.
We exhibit Jarrah furniture concepts from traditional to modern contemporary, commissions can be arranged and pieces custom built to client requirements. The use of reclaimed and forest floor native Australian hardwoods is our priority. The results are elegant and sophisticated pieces that are extremely durable. We also exhibit paintings by selected artists with an emphasis on impressionist and expressionist Australian themes.
Visitors to the gallery delight at the stunning sculptural staircase crafted in native timbers and forged in wrought iron by artist and blacksmith Antonio Battistessa.
A range of high quality corporate and gift items are available in our craft section. Inquire about tax (Goods and Services Tax) free prices for international purchases. Overseas and interstate shipping or postage can be arranged to get your purchases safely to you.
The port town of Fremantle is famous for its Edwardian architecture and surrounding white sandy beaches and offers diversity and relaxation to tourists and locals alike. The town boasts a unique blend of cafes, galleries, shops, boutique pubs with locally brewed beers and the oldest market in Western Australia.
