Historic Pinjarra welcomes visitors to the tenth Pinjarra Festival from Saturday 31 May to Monday 2 June, with music, entertainment, sporting and cultural events. Entry into most venues is free with main events and entertainment for three days at the Edenvale Complex, Pinjarra.
There will be free entertainment and music daily, stalls galore, sideshow alley, arts and craft and quilting demonstrations, Machinery Museum with running motors, car displays, antiques, horse cart rides, canoe rides on the river, animals, a bouncy castle, wine tasting and a variety of food outlets.
Saturday features the talented Southern Cross Cloggers and Aboriginal dancers. The Circle of the Sword theatrical combat re-enactment group, who entertain with their antics on Saturday and Sunday, do a show, a dance off and workshops in circus skills each day. Also, Knotwork perform, reptiles will be on display and the bush poets will entertain over lunch.
Sunday performers include Salt Creek Bush Band, vocalist Christine, Spanish Dancers and the Wandering in the Bush Show. Monday features Echoe D’Italia, Sarah Wise, the Pixie Chicks and a Duo and Voices in Harmony.
The 28th Rotary Art Show and Sale runs all weekend for those wishing to purchase a painting or simply admire the great talent offered by artists from within the Peel Region and beyond. Different venues also have fetes, markets, horse events and the Peel Zoo and new Raven Winery will be open.
The Heritage Rose Garden with its memorial garden is a must to wander through and a walk on the Heritage Trail along the Murray River and over the suspension bridge all add to the attractions over the weekend. Edenvale is a disabled friendly venue.
Visitors can park their vehicles and walk to most venues. It promises to be a great weekend for the entire family, much of which is free.
