Alfresco restaurants, together with a shopping precinct and service centre make Trinity Beach a first choice for all kinds of holidaymakers. There is a choice of restaurants, including Thai, Lebanese, Mediterranean or Italian. Or enjoy classic Aussie pub tucker just up the road at the Trinity Beach Hotel on the hill that overlooks the beach - it’s the ideal spot for a sundowner at the end of the day!
The beach is a calm oasis with only non-motorised water sports permitted. The beach is patrolled by surf lifesavers and a stinger-proof swimming enclosure is in place during from November to May at our end of the beach.
Things To Do
The celebrated features of the region are undoubtedly The Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage-listed Tropical Rainforests. These twin treasures of nature are at the centre of a vibrant, creative tourism industry which thoroughly understands the needs and wants of visitors, whether they are interstate Australians or visitors from abroad.
It is estimated there are around 600 day tours and activities in the region. These include almost 100 ways to experience the reef, with day and extended cruise options by various sizes and styles of vessels operating from Cairns, Palm Cove or Port Douglas. Whether you wish to stay wet or dry…swim, snorkel or just snooze there’s a reef trip you’ll thoroughly enjoy. You can also see the reef by helicopter or fixed wing craft including a genuine Tiger Moth. Flights often include options covering the rainforests.
Australia’s Tropical Rainforests surround the Cairns region, and you can visit on your own or by a tour. There are 4WD guided tours, night tours (many of the animals are nocturnal) and even evening dinners in the rainforest. One of the most famous ways to visit the rainforest is via the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda, the rainforest village at the start of the Highlands behind Cairns. From here, many guests travel on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, a 100 year old service back to Cairns.
Once you’ve experienced the reef and the rainforest, there are leisure and action sports, culture, shopping, and driving to explore the beautiful hinterlands of Mission Beach and the Great Green Way, the Cairns Highlands (formerly known as the Tropical Tablelands) and northwards to Port Douglas, Daintree and Cape Tribulation.
We use and recommend Tours To Go, a tour information and booking service with around 600 tours to chose from including scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing and fishing trips to the Great Barrier Reef, ballooning, white-water rafting, horse riding, wildlife parks and tropical rainforest tours.
Tour operators collect guests from the door for organized activities and trips to tours and attractions. Car hire and public transport by bus is available.
