The nearest airport is Mt Gambier (28km). From Mt Gambier by car: Take Bay Rd and head South. You will pass by the famous Blue Lake to reach Port MacDonnell.

Surrounded by rugged coastline, this charming town is full of history and places of interest, including The Customs House, the Old Lighthouse, The Maritime Museum, The Petrified Forest, Adam Lindsay Gordon's Cottage. Activities include boating, swimming (beach), diving through underwater kelp forests and shipwrecks, sinkhole diving (the reknowned Ewens Ponds and Picaninnie Ponds), tennis, playground, sailing and all types of fishing.
Day trips from Port MacDonnell include the famous Coonawarra wineries, the heritage-listed Naracoorte Caves, and Mount Gambier and The Blue Lake.
