Watervale is located 110 kilometres north of Adelaide in the centre of the Clare Valley wine growing area. Watervale Cottage was built in the 1870s and has been extensively renovated and extended without losing its original charm. Featuring two double bedrooms with queen size beds, one twin bedroom with two single beds, sitting room with open fire, dining room with seating for six people, kitchen with electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, utensils, sunroom with wood stove, bathroom, reverse cycle air conditioning, radio/CD player, colour television and barbecue. It is set on two acres of land including an acre of cabernet sauvignon vines and 500 metres back from the main road. Pub meals are available nearby at the Watervale Hotel and there is a General Store and Post Office only two blocks away. The Rising Sun Hotel at Auburn (12 kilometres south) has an award wining restaurant and pub meals. Very good lunches are also available at the Skillogalee Winery and Restaurant just outside Penwortham (five kilometres north). Dinner at the cottage can be provided by arrangement. The cottage is 100 metres from the Riesling Trail for walking and cycling. Bikes can be hired from Clare Valley Cycle Hire and bikes can be delivered and collected from the cottage for a small extra charge.
