Bliss for two – inside this romantic 140-year-old, National Trust listed cottage is the perfect setting for a blissful break. It is two stories of luxury, set in a peaceful garden with a secluded rear terrace overlooking Dennis Creek.
At Wild Olive Cottage, no expense has been spared. On the upper floor you will find a queen-size bed that was crafted in the Victorian era from steel and nickel silver. It is dressed in linen of the highest quality.
Rich, lavish rugs adorn the original polished cedar floors.
This level is also an elegant living area. There are plush leather armchairs and a couch where you can sit and listen to your music on CD or tape, or watch television or a DVD or video, or simply enjoy the open fire.
Down to the lower level by spiral staircase, you enter the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is designed for food lovers. To of the range appliances, including dishwasher and microwave, and crockery by Villeroy and Boch, Stanley Roger’s cutlery, Mundail chef’s knives and full arsenal of solid pots and pans. Kitchen and bathroom cupboards are cedar and the bench tops are local Mintaro slate.
There is a luxurious bathroom with a large triangular spa bath and exquisite linen.
Wild Olive is set on a quite tree lined street in the picturesque village of Auburn, at the heart of the magnificent Clare Valley. It is a short walk to antique and craft shops, restaurants and galleries.
