Bridgedale is the oldest remaining building in Bridgetown. It was constructed in 1862 by pastoralist John Blechynden. The house was built from bricks made of clay from the riverbank.

The building was purchased by public subscription in 1969 and handed over to the National Trust who now administer it. Of particular interest are the beautiful gardens and tiny building behind the house where the original owner lived while 'Bridgedale' was being built.

There is a pleasant 1.5 kilometre river walk which starts from the house. If interested in a tour of the house, please call 08 9761 1508.
