Often described as the jewel of the Bibbulmun Track the Northcliffe Forest Park is just one kilometre from the main townsite and has probably the oldest and biggest trees (in a forest situation) in the whole of Australia. Thought to be the third tallest trees in the world, huge Karri's stretch 75 and a half metres to the sky, with verdant green understoreys covering the forest floor.
The park is home to the hollow butt karri tree, twin karris and newly constructed board walks.
It is a very beautiful area in the wildflower season (October to December).
An Information Bay gives details of the park and many trees and plants are labelled. Walk trails can be obtained on brochure from the Visitor Centre.
The Northcliffe Forest Park was developed with the use of CEP Funds and was completed in May 1985.
