Thirlmere Lakes National Park is situated on 627 hectares and is 105 kilometres south of Sydney and 10 kilometres from Picton.
The five reed-fringed freshwater lakes in a quiet patch of forest. The lakes are among the last undisturbed systems near Sydney and have enormous scientific value. Park inhabitants include wombats and waterbirds.
Discovery walks, talks and tours available.
The lakes are sensitive to pollution; camping is not permitted.
Activities include: Canoeing, swimming, bushwalking, picnicking and nature study. Picnic and barbecue area.
