Captain’s Cottage is a Georgian bluestone, circa 1832,in the heart of Stanley, a picturesque historic (1826) fishing village on the northwest coast. The National Trust Classified cottage has three bedrooms, a ground floor sitting room, and a large Baltic pine attic sitting room with dormer windows, offering water and beach views. With the aid of the telescope you can take in the wharf activity and surrounding scenery of green hills and farmland. The skylight frames the rocky monolith of The Nut behind the cottage. At night this view includes the night sky. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen and laundry, and breakfast provisions are provided. We have furnished the cottage with interesting artwork and period furnishings to add to the enjoyment of your time here. Oncooler days you have a cosy wood fire and electric heating. The bathroom offers the romance of a claw foot bath, along with a double shower and two separate toilets . We also offer home entertainment: two televisons, a compact disc player and digital video disc player/video cassette recorder along with a tape and book library. Stanley has a good selection of restaurants and the village offers access to great coastal walks, quality art and craft shopping, wildlife tours and is the perfect spot to base yourself while exploring this beautiful and still unspoiled area.
