Ross is officially one of the top 3 most desired places to visit in Tasmania. Don’t just visit, stay over and enjoy the song birds while sipping a red wine, visit our famous bridge by floodlights, curl in front of the log fire, have a complimentary port on us. ALl our accommodation is in genuine historic buildings with tons of charm. Yep, Ross has the antique shops, tea rooms, bakeries, country pub and crafts. But we don’t get the official recognition as the best convict village in Australia for nothing. Its not over commercialised, its our little secret, don’t tell those fake places, it upsets them.

How to get to Colonial Cottages and B&B of Ross
We are half way between Hobart and Launceston on the famous Heritage highway. The noisy traffic is bi-passed so you can enjoy the peace created by the convicts. Forget about public transport, bring a car.

Out and About
Our bridge has over 186 convict carvings on its sides, its a "gotta see". Yep, shops...they are very nice...yep, bakeries...hmmmm....oh, yeah, the wool centre is nicely set up, popular spot

Instructions for after hours key collection
In our 1927 B&B we have the highest tech 24 hour reception in Tassie, so we are told. SOme say its a tourist attraction in itself. Lets not spoil the surprise, find out yourself.
