Driving Times and Distances

• Moina and Cradle Chalet are 150 km west of Launceston and 85 km south of Devonport.

• The driving time from Launceston is around 2 hours. and from Devonport 1.5 hours.

• The Spirit of Tasmania ferry docks in Devonport from Melbourne so this is a great way to travel to Northwest Tasmania with your own vehicle and then drive to Cradle Chalet.

• Strahan to Cradle Chalet is 155km and driving time is around 1 hour 45 minutes.

• Hobart is about 4 hours via the Midlands Highway through Ross - or 6 hours 30 mins by the Lyell Highway through Queenstown.


Out and About
The main attraction in the northwest is the spectacular Cradle Mountain but Cradle Chalet is also centrally located just a short drive from a host of other regional attractions ranging from stunning alpine wilderness to salmon, wine, cheese and chocolates!
