D’Entrecasteaux is a small and intimate luxury hotel located 15 minutes south of Hobart, the charming and historic capital of Tasmania.
Nestled on the shores of the picturesque D’Entrecasteaux Channel this French provincial style hotel takes its name from the French explorer, Antoine Bruni of Entrecasteaux, who in the 18th century chartered this magnificent waterway.
D’Entrecasteaux offers 10 ensuite rooms individually styled with a provincial feel that suits the country setting and the architecture of the property. Beamed ceilings and shuttered windows add rustic charm to the chateau. A marble staircase winds up to the individually styled rooms most of which enjoy water views and private balconies. All feature LCD cable television, complimentary mini-bars, king or queen sized beds and custom made or antique furniture.
The licensed bar adjoins the dining conservatory where we offer our in house guest a table d’hote dining experience, which translates to the hosts table. We source the freshest local produce on a daily basis from local farms and fishermen in creating a three-course menu with French provincial flair. Our in house dining is available by pre-arrangement only and excellent local and imported wines. Please phone to make a booking - our number will be on your booking confirmation. Tall arched windows open onto the terrace and beyond to the courtyard and gardens. D’Entrecasteaux is also available for exclusive hire for your own private group. We can tailor a party or event to suit your individual needs and we can arrange all catering requirements. Meals could be a simple picnic, candlelit dinners, indoor banquets or outdoor BBQ’s. A range of activities can be arranged - including bush walking, fishing, scenic flights, canoeing, cycling with electric bikes, golfing, a day in the spa, adventure cruises, winery and wildlife tours or a day relaxing by our indoor heated pool.
There is wheelchair access to all public areas (interior and exterior). There are three disabled public toilets/bathrooms. One disabled accommodation room with ensuite, hand rails and stair markings for sight impaired and braille signage. |
