Edge Of The Bay Resort,
Coles Bay
2308 Main Road
Coles Bay
When you step from your cabin or room, at Edge of the Bay, you will have the best view across Oyster Bay to the pink granite mountains of the Freycinet Peninsula. This intimate family-run resort is right on the water’s edge and has two styles of accommodation: traditional family cabins set a little back among the She oaks and stylish contemporary ensuite rooms right on the beach – each with their own private deck. You can choose to cycle the area, try out your skills in the resort’s dinghies, explore Freycinet National Park, go wildlife spotting at dusk, or fish for the day – the flathead are bountiful here. The resort also has tennis courts. If you are travelling with your family, the brick and timber cottages are set up with all facilities to ensure you have all you need for a relaxing time. One of the most memorable experiences is to sit in the Edge of the Bay restaurant watching the sunset reflected on the mountains of the peninsula. The focus is on local seafood and produce served with the best of Tasmanian wines. You really need two days to explore the area: walking to Wineglass Bay or Hazards Beach, exploring Friendly Beaches, taking a tour to see if you will be lucky enough to spot a migrating whale or a pod of dolphins, bird watching or listening to the waves gently on the beach in front of your room.
