Island View Spa Cottage,
Smithton
RA 70
Smithton
Island View Cottage sits on a cliff top just two kilometres from Smithton on Duck Bay. The house is modelled on a Federation-style home, has two bedrooms, one with ensuite, and looks north to Bass Strait and Perkins, Robbins, and Three Hummock islands. If you are wanting seclusion and privacy, the house is perfect. It sits on two hectares (five acres) of bush with no other property in sight. It is centrally located and is an easy walk into Smithton to explore the village. Just a short walk from the house there are views over Stanley and The Nut and you can even spot the ribs of a shipwrecked hull in the bay below the house. After a day exploring the area, you can sit in the protected outside spa bath with a glass of sparkling wine and watch the sun set. By the way, the oysters from Duck Bay are spectacular. Smithton is the perfect place to base yourself when exploring the northwest – the natural wonder of the Blackwood sink hole at Dismal Swamp, Rocky Cape National Park, Tasmanian devil spotting at Marrawah, the boat trip out to see the Fur Seals from Stanley, Highfield House or the cable car ride to the top of The Nut. Or you can head down the west coast and enjoy a cruise on the Arthur River.
