Kiah Nunyara (translation = beautiful place where one becomes well)
’Kiah Nunyara’ Accommodation offers a unique, peaceful and private environment.
The spacious modern unit is complete with limited cooking facilities and includes microwave, fridge, washing machine, iron & ironing board, TV, DVD, CD/radio. A queen size bed, fold down sofa lounge for extra guests, doonas etc.
Home baked bread and jams and free range eggs (provided by our resident chooks), fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, juice etc are included in your breakfast provisions. Plus complimentary homebaked biscuits/cakes.
The 50 acre property is home for a huge variety of native birds and animals. Occasional sightings include a family of wedge tailed eagles, black cockatoos and swamp harriers. Apart from regular visits by echidnas, nightfall brings forth wallabies, wombats, possums and the endangered Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Our two large dams provide a habitat for wild duck, crested grebes and thousands (millions’) of frogs. Expansive views to the west, southwest provide breathtaking sunsets over Bruny Island, The Hartz Mountains and beyond.
A spotlight is provided free of charge and guests are free to roam at any time, night or day to experience the varied bird and nocturnal animal life.
Kiah Nunyara is central to all Tasman Peninsula’s attractions - 50 Magnificent World Class Coastal Walks to the highest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere - Eco Tourism Boat Cruises - Scuba Diving - Sea Kayaking - Chartered Fishing Excursions - Port Arthur & the Coal Mines Historic Sites - Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park - Golf - Horse riding - Safe Swimming and Surf Beaches and excellent restaurants...

How to get to Kiah Nunyara Accommodation
From Taranna:
Turn right from the Arthur Hwy (A9) at the junction immediately past Taranna and the Tasmanaian Devil Park (B37)
Continue through the townships of Koonya and Premaydena until you reach a T junction at Nubeena
Turn left at the T junction (C343 - Nubeena Back Road) for 2.5 kilometres
Gillies Road is on your left and is signposted. This approach road ends at Kiah Nunyara.
From Port Arthur:
At the main road junction after leaving the Port Arthur Historic Site turn left and proceed to Nubeena
Continue through the township of Nubeena - do not turn - continue past the school and you will be on the Nubeena Back Road (C343)
Proceed for 2.5 kilometres - Gillies Road is on your left. This approach road ends at Kiah Nunyara.

Out and About
If you simply wish to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet - read a book or wander the grounds to experience the garden and varied bird life there is no better place. However if you wish to be more energetic Kiah Nunyara is no more than a short drive from all the Tasman Peninsula attractions.
The Tasman Peninsula area is a true microcosm of Tasmania and offers so much to see and do. We recommend you allow sufficient time to do it justice.
