Roydon Alpaca Stud and Accommodation,
Maydena
46 Junee Road
Maydena
Roydon Alpaca Stud and Accommodation is nestled in a very unique part of the Derwent Valley, situated in the alpine region of the valley at Maydena. The property has a glorious view across the valley up into five mountains, snow capped for several months of the year. This is the type of region that our Alpacas originally come from in South America. These animals are very friendly and love having their picture taken with visitors. The young cria are particularly soft and cuddly and do win the hearts of those who come in contact with them. Our property offers four star accommodation consisting of a six berth cabin with deck and outdoor seating, where you can absorb the serendipity of this beautiful outlook, across the fields that the alpacas graze in, to the mountains and beyond. The cabin is fully self- contained with all of the modern furnishings and a range of music that you can listen to. The bed and breakfast also has this magnificent view, and outdoor seating on the front house verandah allows you to sit and be absorbed by it. There are table and chairs at the rear of the house and a barbeque to use if you like. The views to the rear of the house are also stunning, the hills rising to 1100 metres over lovely natural bush to Abbott’s Lookout and Eagles Nest Lookout where the proposed Maydena Hauler project will soon be operational taking tourists to the top. The area is certainly unique having snow fields at National Park and the world renown Russell Falls, the worlds tallest hardwood tree at the Styx forest walk, the World Heritage South West National Park on our doorstep and the longest caving system some 30 kilometres just down Junee Road as well as Strathgordon lakes and dam. So come and see us and Donna and David will make you really welcome with their hospitality.
