How to get to Sails on Port Sorell Boutique Apartments
Port Sorell is situated 15 kms from Devonport and is a stone's throw from the "Spirit of Tasmania" 1 and 2 and Devonport Airport. The turn off to Port Sorell is via the Bass Highway. When you arrive in Port Sorell turn left at the Alexander Street roundabout, right into Club Drive, right again at Shearwater Resort roundabout. When you reach Rice Street, turn left and look out for the "sail".

Out and About
Port Sorell is situated on the North West Coast of Tasmania and is known today as the "Port of Golden Beaches". It is the hidden "jewel" of Tasmania, because it boasts a climate not that dissimilar to the mediterranean, with low rainfall and a high level of sunshine throughout the year. It is protected by Narawntapu National Park, where you can see the tassie devil, wombats and forester kangaroos. You can enjoy various activities in the area - golf, tennis, bowling or visit the local Resort for a round of pokies. Why not take a stroll along the walking tracks, or maybe a dip in the clear blue ocean. Many water sports, such as jet and water skiiing, board riding and fishing from the jetty are enjoyed by visitors to the area. At Panatana paddling pool you will also find a playground and picnic area, which is very popular with families.

Take a walk out to Point Sorell at dusk and watch the penguins returning to their rookeries, between October and March each year.

At low tide you can access Penguin Island and pick and shuck your own oysters.

Sails on Port Sorell is the perfect place to base yourself and discover what the North West has to offer. You can take day trips to Leven Canyon, Gunns Plains, Dismal Swamp or the "Nut" at historic Stanley, Cradle Mountain, Tamar Valley, Cataract Gorge in Launceston, Mole Creek, Liffey Falls, Longford, Sheffield and Latrobe.
