Sheoaks on Freycinet,
Coles Bay
47 Oyster Bay Court
Coles Bay
Designed by one of Tasmania’s leading architects, Sheoaks maximizes use of its superb waterfront site and appears to float on the sea. The deck and sitting room look out over Great Oyster Bay. Relax there in a comfortable chair or enjoy chatting with your fellow guests. We provide a selection of novels and digital video displays, comprehensive natural history references, interesting magazines and old fashioned games. There’s a cosy wood heater for winter evenings. All bedrooms have views to the Swan River estuary, very comfortable pillow topped beds and individually controlled electric heating. The decor is a pleasant mix of ultra modern with restored cottage furniture. A full cooked breakfast is provided featuring great Tasmanian produce. Packed lunches are available for walkers, luxury hampers for those treating themselves to a celebration weekend, or light snacks if your preference is to stay at home. Evening meals are by arrangement, including celebration meals and barbeques. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. Sheoaks is not suitable for children due to its proximity to an unfenced cliff and is a non-smoking property. The Freycinet Peninsula is a special place where you cannot help but unwind. Please stay for at least a couple of days to allow yourself time to do so. Apart from simply relaxing, what is there for guests to do? This is ideal walking country. Choose from a short walk along a flat beach or something much more challenging such as the climb up Mt Amos. Local operators provide many outdoor activities. You’ll find them all under Links on our web site. This is also a great area for bird watching and wild flowers. We can advise you where to go and lend local field guides. There’s even a bird watching scope in the guest sitting room. Winter specials apply from 1 June until 31 August - see website.
