St Georges Retreat,
Lachlan
530 Lachlan Road
Lachlan
Nestled amongst the hills of the picturesque Lachlan Valley, only 35 minutes from Hobart, rest St George’s Chapel of Ease. Built in 1911 to replace the original Lachlan Church destroyed by fire, it has been a private residence for the past 30 years during which time each of the owners have added their own creative touch. Now it has become unique accommodation in a beautiful and serene setting. To complement this we offer healthy and hearty continental breakfast provisions, a relaxing sauna and a healing massage which can be booked on request at extra cost. St George’s Retreat is furnished with Edwardian furniture in keeping with the era it was built and has a subtle Eastern flavour decor, offsetting the austerity associated with Edwardianism. Features are two bathrooms, one in the church’s bell tower, a wood heater, sunroom and artworks and artifacts produced by Tasmanian artists, which are for sale.
