The Homestead is located just five minutes drive time from the township and historic site of Port Arthur, home of Australia’s premier convict settlement. The area features beautiful unspoiled beaches, temperate rainforests, established bushwalking trails and a host of accessible outdoor activities.
Set on a large and very private acreage with breathtaking sweeping ocean views over Tasman Island and Cape Pillar, the Homestead is a large two storey home, constructed with Tasmanian timbers, earth walls and extensive use of glass to make the most of the phenomenal views. Fully self contained, the accommodation offers three very generous sized bedrooms, large open plan living areas, polished floorboards, wood fires and electric heating, bathroom/laundry area and wide sheltered verandahs around the entire house.
Bookings and all enquiries are made with our managers Wally and Maggie at Port Arthur Villas, who on arrival will present our guests with keys and a hearty breakfast hamper. Once at the Homestead, just five minutes away, guests are left in total privacy, with no disturbance to their peace.
Feedback from our guests usually contains glowing comments about the tranquility and peacefulness, the stunning ocean views and the regular dusk appearance of an abundance of wildlife grazing on the lawns around the property.
The Homestead is the perfect location for romantic getaways, families and groups of up to seven people – (groups up to nine may be considered on enquiry). Corporate escapees, artists, writers, discussion/workshop groups are also perfect candidates to make the most of this unique holiday retreat.
