Lush vine forest, dense eucalypt forest and white sandy beaches feature on this island. Surrounding waters and reefs are protected in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage area. The park is also significant to the Kuku Yalanji people, the local Aboriginal Traditional Owners.
