How to get to Cape Schanck Lighthouse |

Take the Mornington Peninsula Frankston freeway in south east Melbourne (off Springvale road), at the end of the freeway the road continues through Frankston and changes to the Moorooduc Highway continuing to a T intersection with Boneo road. Turn left, travel up the Hill to the Pine trees turning right at Cape Schanck Road. Follow Cape Schanck road to the end, turn left onto the gravel road through the boom gates and drive around to the kiosk. .

The Cape Schanck Light station (with a fully functioning beacon) offers visitors a unique glimpse of the past.
The historic light is one of the few still operating as it did during the early 1800's. Surrounded by Magnificent historic buildings, the Cape Schanck Light station allows visitors to recreate in their imaginations the simple life of a bygone era.
Bushranger’s Bay walkers enjoy some of the best coastal scenery near Melbourne, the track finishes at a sandy beach beneath basalt cliffs. The walk takes approximately 45 minutes each way.
The Cape walking track from the kiosk takes our guests to the start of the wooden staircase and boardwalk, which descends to the beach and rock pools. Geological formations called Pulpit Rock and Devils Desk which were formed over millions of years are some features seen on this walk.
Fingal Picnic area and Fingal Beach. Enjoy a picnic or a barbecue at the Fingal picnic grounds where there are electric BBQ, tables, toilets and games area. Walking tracks lead to lookouts with spectacular views of basalt cliffs and Fingal beach which is exposed at low tide. |
