Charlton is an ideal stopover point, located on the Calder Hwy, 254 km NW of Melbourne, approximately halfway to Mildura, and on the route to Broken Hill and Adelaide

Out and About
Charlton has facilities providing golf, tennis, bowls, croquet and swimming. At the Traveller's Rest, a five minute walk from the motel, is a large picnic area, with an undercover BBQ and tables, a children's playground, and toilets. A short walk over the swinging bridge takes you to another large grassed area and playground.
Charlton has a recently up-graded harness racing venue, with up to 24 meetings scheduled per year, providing TAB facilities.
The old "Rex" cinema screens the latest movies on Saturday and Tuesday evenings, as well as a matinee on Sunday afternoons.
