Larkrise is set right next to the Great Southern Railtrail among the lush green Gippsland hills, surrounded by fern gullies and blackwood forest, and overlooking the waters of Corner Inlet. The views are breathtaking. The bedrooms at Larkrise House are attractively furnished with family antiques, and both have en-suite facilities. One of the bedrooms has wheelchair access. There’s a glassed-in sunroom with a mini-kitchen, where you can watch the galahs and crimson rosellas at the birdfeeder or enjoy the Prom views. Breakfasts are generous and feature freshly squeezed orange juice, hand-made bread, muesli and preserves and free range eggs from our own hens. The spectacular scenic beauty of this special part of Victoria is an enticement to explore. Walking, photography and bird watching are favourite pursuits, and the garden and house engender a feeling of well-being and total relaxation. Further a field you can seek the haunts of the lyre-bird in the hills and rainforests of the Strzelecki Ranges, at Tarra Bulga National Park, or enjoy bushwalking, swimming and surfing at Wilson’s Promontory National Park, Venus Bay or Walkerville.
